May his soul rest in peace and may his legacy remain.
Some testimonials
When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, “It is well, it is well with my soul.”
A hymn composed by Horatio Spafford in the aftermath of the passing of his four daughters reminds us believers to have faith, even in the worst of times.
The late Pathe Dione was an excellent comrade and a great colleague to many of us. A leader who built an empire not just for himself but created an opportunity for us to develop in our careers. He contributed to the development of everyone who crossed his path and inspired all.
Death may take away our loved ones before we let them go. You may be gone, but your memory is always with us. You left an indelible imprint in our hearts with your hard work and sacrifice. You lived beyond yourself, and your philanthropic gestures benefited many lives in society. Death is sudden and final, but the memory of the righteous is blessed.
I am grateful to God for your life, and we praise God for giving you to us. Though we mourn your departure, we celebrate the life you lived.
Rest Well, Pathe Dione

We all know there is time for every season. The exit of a greater dreamer and entrepreneur is an end of a season in his life. The legacy speaks louder than what words could express. We have close relationship with Sunu Health in Nigeria and can testify that the SUNU Group can stand the test of time even after the exit of the promoter-evidence of good leadership and corporate parenting. Fare well au revoir…
Our sincere condolence to the SUNU Group family

On behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of SUNU Assurances Ghana Limited, I am highly honored to pay tribute to our departed Founder and Group President- Pathe Dione, a true Pan-Africanist with a vision not only for the Financial Sector but for Africa.
SUNU Assurances Ghana joined the SUNU Group in 2018. When I first met Mr. Dione in Gabon during one of the Group Office meetings. And my earliest impression about him was that he was the most decerning, humble and knowledgeable character. In fact a rare breed.
His unwavering dedication to excellence has not only propelled the SUNU Group to great heights but it has also served as an inspiration to others. He was a Hero to many, and his legacy will continue to shape our companies for many years to come.
If he had gone into politics, we would have likened him to great political leaders such as Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, Jomo Kenyatta of Kenya or Nnamdi Azikiwe of Nigeria. However, Pathe Dione’s impact transcends politics, it cut across 17 African countries; 30 insurance companies, as well as banking, microfinance and health management companies. We believe this achievement was on the back of selflessness, sacrifice, passion, unparalleled dedication, indeed his love for Africa. These values directly impact the lives of more than 4,000 employees and their families. It gives hope and it should inspire us all to give our very best for Africa. Can you imagine if we had more Pathe Dione(s) on this continent?
It will be recalled that our departed Group President visited Ghana On 29th November 2019 to commission our new corporate Head Office Building. During one of his interactions with staff, he reiterated his vision for the SUNU Group, “ that is to make a difference on the African continent”. We in Ghana strongly believe his love for Africa drove him more than anything else
We are grateful for Pathe Dione’s contributions to the financial sector in general and the insurance industry in particular and the economy of the countries the SUNU group has a presence. We count ourselves fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such a great leader.
A colossus has fallen but we are confident that more gigantic trees will be planted because his legacy lives on. There is no better service and support to his dream than to ensure that the Group extends to all 54 African countries.
As the late Nelson Mandela said “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others.”
Our own Pathe Dione, had made a difference!
Thank you Sir for a life well spent. Thank you for being an epitome of sacrifice and love for the continent Africa
